This is a revision...I've been back several times since my first review and it seems like someone listened. Friendly greetings all the way around, helpful staff and the food seems to have improved. Overall I give it four stars because their seafood isn't the best or hasn't been prepared correctly...the mussels particularly are always sandy which means they haven't been properly washed. I've had to send them back twice out of the two times I've ordered them. Everything else is on par with a small family Italian restaurant.

Have to give this place a 5star revue the food was beyond my expectation. The service was very good, thanks Adele. The mussels marinara and clams casino were just great. All of us enjoyed our dinners. Would recommend this eatery. We will be back.

There is a limit to what one should expect when ordering a $7.99 Veal Parmigiana, even as a lunch portion or Early Bird Special. I am happy to say that Stassi's went well beyond any reasonable expectation. As I watched meals being delivered all around me, I have to say that it all looked pretty good. The dining room is a good size, decorated in traditional pizza parlor chic. Service is pleasant and available. The menu has virtually all of your favorites, and a few unusual turns from tradition. The prices seem quite reasonable. In the barren wasteland that is Moon Lake, Stassi's is certainly an oasis. I rarely find myself in this particular part of NPR, but it is sure nice to know that there is a least one place that merits a stop.

I really like Stassi's even though I have never physically been IN Stassi's. We are relatively new to this area in Hudson so we are just acclimating to all the new places around where we live. Stassi's is kind of far from us, but we are in a rather undeveloped area of Hudson. However, it is the ONLY Italian restaurant within 5 miles of us. Thankfully, we like it! We have always supported the mortgage of Argento's in New Port Richey when they were Hudson. However, now they moved to NPR and WE moved to Hudson. Frustrating. So, since we knew we would not be at our favorite place nearly as often, we had to find a restaurant that could at least match it. We found that in Stassi's. We have them for take out at least once a week. They do deliver, but generally, we are making a trip to Publix nearby, so we just pick up from there. Their pizza isn't bad, but then again, I am kind of a pizza snob. However, their food is VERY good. They always make their pasta just perfectly. They make a delicious chicken parm, whether part of the dinner or on a hero. My husband is a big fan of one of their chicken dishes, Chicken Alex, with a sauteed garlic, sun dried tomato and feta in a Chardonnay sauce. It's very tasty. I often want to order it, but admittedly, I am kind of addicted to their meatballs and spaghetti. Every take out order entree comes with a good sized piece of warm italian bread and a small side salad which is always cold and fresh. The food is always nice and warm. Entrees range about $12,95 to $16.95 or higher for certain fish dishes in season. The reason I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because they ALWAYS screw up my take out order. Always. I usually always order spaghetti and meatballs. That one they don't mess up. But every once in awhile, I throw them a curve ball and order a chicken parm, easy on the parm and with light sauce on the spaghetti. I end up getting no cheese at all (so basically, just a chicken cutlet...which is delicious, but not what I ordered) and for some reason, a side of ziti with a mild amount of sauce, instead of spaghetti, I don't know why this happens, really. It just does. Also, compared to Argento's with their never ending bakery of goodies, their desserts are nothing to write home about. A slice of cheesecake. A piece of tiramisu. Or a single cannoli. Nothing wrong with the desserts, they just aren't anything special to end the meal with. We'll continue to take out at Stassi's though as they always make nice enough dinners to bring home and eat in front of the television with a great movie.

Stopped in here for a bite at lunch with family. Haven't been here in years even though this restaurant is practically on my doorstep. I don't get to go out as much but when I do I love to try different menu items as I never forget when I get something extraordinary and insist on bringing my friends back for more. The service was excellent and friendly since it was an off time of the day and we were one of two tables being served. First I tried the Cesar salad. Being a huge fan of authentic homemade Cesar salads, I was disappointed in the presentation in a worn out wooden bowl. The romaine lettuce was just as worn out and slightly bitter. There was no fancy sliced Romano and the dressing was just average. I also ordered mussels with Bianco sauce which were very good and fresh. The Bianco sauce had good flavor but would have been better if it were slightly thicker with more fresh basil and even better if fresh or at least warm bread was served with it. Other family members ordered stuffed mushrooms which I sampled but didn't care for the overly bread crumby soggy stuffing and the sauce that was boring. Definitely not worth the calories. The garlic knots however were unbelievable by themselves. But not something I would want to use as bread to accompany the mussels. I wanted to try one more of my favorites for sharing so I added an order of calamari. Only because when I had this many years ago I remember it being extraordinary. This time it came out with a light breading cooked just right but no flavor. Even salt and lemon barely helped. But the calamari was fresh. The worst part of the experience was after ordering the calamari, I had to overhear the cook who must not really take pride in his work, say "oh they couldn't just order everything at once?" Everybody likes to make cynical statements to make their co workers giggle but people keep it down YOUR VOICE CARRIES ACROSS THE EMPTY RESTAURANT. Not impressed.

THREE STRIKES AND YOU'RE OUT!! Strike one: My first experience with Stassi's was when I came in late (8:00 - 8:30) on a Sat night. I noticed that I was the only patron. I ordered lasagna and when it arrived, much to my horror, they had used ketchup instead of tomato sauce on it!. I was only able to eat a few bites before leaving. Strike two: Figuring (and hoping) that it was a one time incident, my wife and I returned about a month later. I ordered a chianti (dry wine) while she ordered sangria (a sweet, fruity wine). I noticed that mine didn't taste right and when I sampled her sangria, I noticed that they had used the same wine for both orders. Upon explain the mix-up to my waitress, she informed that owner. I then overheard him instruct her mix the remainder of my glass in with some other and give it back to me. when she brought it back to our table, needless to say, it was just as before. Strike three: My wife & I ordered a pizza for pickup. I was told that it would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived in 20 minutes and the cashier looked at me with bewilderment. She then proceeded to explain that the chef/cook had never gotten around to preparing my order. Again, I was the only patron there. So after waiting for another 20 minutes, they charged me full price for my inconvenience. Cheap food, dishonest owner and incompetent staff. Three strikes - never again!!

We had dinner in the restaurant last night and the food was excellent. We just had the leftovers for lunch and it still tasted great warmed in microwave. We will return for sure since we run distance races and need the carbs.

Really excellent dinner! Prices are average, ambiance is nice. Authentic, yummy, Italian food. I ordered the fra diavalo sauce because I like it spicy!...If only they wouldn't charge extra for it :( Garlic knots were superb as was the tomato bisque soup with shredded chicken. They have a 2 for $20 but we had to ask for it.

I would never have found this place if friends in Odessa hadn't stumbled on it and been kind enough to take me there the first few times until I figured out the way. Stassi's offers a full menu of Italian specialties, but I've only ever had the pizza there. The pizzas are excellent - crisp and thin topped with all kinds of good stuff. Our usual order is a Meat Lover's and a Roma to share. My favorite feature of the Meat Lovers is thin-sliced meatballs that get nice and crispy in the oven. The Roma, with tomatoes, basil and ricotta, is a fresh and light and a nice balance to the Meat Lovers. The garlic knots are also excellent and remind me of the little hole-in-the-wall Italian place that I worked at in high school. We've always had good service and an enjoyable evening here. Can't wait until the next time I get the "Wanna meet at Stassi's?" call. Consistently good food and at good prices.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
